Captured Moments: Featured Photo Roundup #</a>4
What do you do next?
As a creative person, that is the question that both excites you and, if I am being completely honest, keeps you up at night. It’s one thing to spend the time developing a creation that you are proud of…but then when it’s done, what do you do next? I have been thinking a lot about it the past couple of months and for me, the answer is experimentation.
I mentioned in my last post that one of my themes for the year is storytelling. A strong component of that is not just relying on what has worked in the past, but trying to find new ways and methods of sharing your concepts with the world. It’s been said that there are only 7 types of stories in the world. Now, I know I have seen more than 7 movies in my life, so it must be possible to take a concept and rework it into something unique. And who knows: perhaps there is joy in simply going on the hunt for that elusive new concept?
What does all this mean for you, the reader? Simply that, as we move forward, you may notice a few odd and new things popping up. (For example, I am currently developing a new product line that I am hoping to have ready by summer.) It may also mean that less traditional photos of icons like Sleeping Beauty Castle or Grizzly Peak (what I call the “hits”) and some smaller locales.
However, each experiment, whether successful or not, is all in the pursuit of that one goal: To ensure that the moments you spend with me here on Q’s Pics are worth your time.
Now, onto this week’s selections:
I'm genuinely curious. What was your first thought when it popped up on your feed? Was it: I can't wait to be back here!? (Me too! Saturday!) Was it: No way am I ever riding that!? (Completely understandable!) Was it: the bright and vibrant colors bring me joy?! (I'm hoping for this one!)
Or was it: I am longing for the day when projector boxes are closed and jet platforms are down so I can get a full photo and video of the lagoon without trying to figure out how to hide both?
Okay, so that last one may just be me.
I mean, I do. The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad train whistle is one of the most iconic Disney sounds. That chirp brings you back on the attraction, ready to sit in Row 15, prepped for the goat trick.
And it is definitely thrilling to be on the coaster as it roars down the tracks. However, there is also this moment. This space where, whether you're standing on the bridge or just passing by, you can listen to laughter and screams. That space reminds you that, even if just for one ride, there is nothing but that feeling.
So I'll ask you again: do you hear it?
